The Look: Jury Duty
By TheStyleEditor | June 21, 2007
A friend was recently called for jury duty and reported that even though she thought she dressed nicely, she still felt that she was underdressed. She thought that the nice jeans, blouse and heels that she put together (casual sounding, perhaps, but much less so in L.A.) would be fine for what she thought would be the somewhat grimy Los Angeles Criminal Courthouse downtown. However, once before the court she felt the gravity of the system and felt that perhaps she could have dressed up a bit more to show deference to the court and the justice system.
So, what should one wear if called for jury duty? Plenty of coverage, including an over-the-knee skirt or nice slacks, since you will be sitting for a good portion of your time. Check out the outfit below and see if it fits the bill.
