Life/Style: Enjoying the Finer Things

There is definitely more to living stylishly than just looking perfectly put together in every situation. There is family, love, learning, teaching, contributing, and a host of other things that make our hectic lives peaceful and satisfying. One thing I enjoy is sending hand-written notes. Not just for thank yous, but for a variety of occasions large and small. It seems that in the age of e-mail, which can be casually clicked and sent with nary a thought, letter writing is becoming a lost art. But who saves e-mails in the baby’s memory box? How can an e-mail express your longing or passion for someone far away? How can an e-mail convey to someone that you care so much that for no particular reason, you picked up a pen, inked it in your distinct hand, and affixed a stamp to it, just for him or her?
And there is something elegant and sumptuous about fine stationery that makes a person feel like they are indulging every time a crisp sheet or card is pulled out. I use Sharpie ultra fine point pens and take the opportunity to scrawl in my prettiest penmanship to those I love most.
