Legging and Hosiery Trends

Ever since leggings made a comeback a couple of seasons ago, there has been no stopping the flooding of this market with crazy designs, some new, some old school. To wit:

Two-tone, toeless knee socks from Prada. They’re like leg warmers, but with the heels included! Innovative! Original! And yours for only $195 on eBay!

In the Blast From the Past category, American Apparel has decided to widely distribute lame leggings. (And that’s Luh-MAY, not just plain lame, though the adjective confusion is understandable.) Now this comes as no great shock, as when leggings reappeared, lame leggings were sure to follow. However, we had heretofore only seen them available in dance-centric shopping circles (because when aren’t lame leggings in for dance recitals?). And it was at Danskin that I hoped they would stay. But no.
